'Finished' reading paulo coelho's Winner Stands Alone..haha ok I didnt finish reading up to the very last page, gave up after 3/4 of the book. It is a really good read but knowing the lousy reader I am, no patience.
Find it rather interesting how Igor tries to justify his serial killing to get back at his wife or hopefully to reconcile with her. But the sad truth is, his wife only sees him as a devil, not his love or the efforts he put in to keep the lost relationship alive.
Surprisingly, sometimes I find myself agreeing with Igor..ok but maybe not that extreme to killing people to get what he wanted. After all, it was the great love he had for his wife which compelled him to act like that. Poor soul
Anyway, he killed both the wife and her new husband on the beach and managed to escape on his private jet. This kinda threw me off the track cos all along I thought bad guys will always get their punishment. It was a little hard to accept for me, but I guessed paulo coelho wanted to portray what the Superclass can accomplish with all the wealth and power. They are like demigods and can get away with anything.
And there was this constand question while I was reading his book- Do you think it is right to take another person's life/ destroy another universe just to send a person a message?
What if the victim-to-be is very poor and waiting to be liberated from his/her suffering? I mean obviously all of us would take NO as an answer but what if you're in Igor's shoes? You have absolutely everything in the world except for the love of your life? And you know you can get away with it...on a private jet..ok nvm haha.
lego lego! It was really amusing and fun to watch 3 adults pressing the packs away and trying to feel if they can get the characters they want. It was a first for me and I must say it was exciting! Not forgetting to say those crazy fanatics who bought the entire box when the stocks came in were actually full grown adults!! Theres a total of 16 characters..red indians,robin hood,etc. and they are all so cute!(:
If only we can afford it and we'll build the taj mahal tgt(:
